Love’s Soft Embrace

What will it take to soften,
To relax our bitter stance,
To set down our unyielding views,
And give goodness a chance.

How can we blur the edges,
Of our illusions snug and dear,
To make way for new vistas,
Horizons bright and clear.

Releasing separation,
Asks us to make room,
For the US that is arising,
From truth that is abloom.

We belong together,
As unique as we shall be,
A tapestry of soul-shine,
One humanity.

Let us melt our factions,
Into a sea of blended grace,
Let us heal our fractures,
And feel love’s soft embrace.

For love, it is elixir,
That dissipates our strife,
It leads us to compassion,
That brings us all new life.

So if you want to soften,
To accept what you have spurn,
Set your mind toward kindness,
And give your heart a turn.
