Father Love Today

Daddy Dear, I remember you
Your funny ways
Made us laugh for days,
Your private pain I never knew.

To recall you now
Through my heart-mind’s eye,
I see more of the guy
Than my youth would allow.

A mystery wrapped
In the finest of suits,
Tangled up in the roots
Of marvel untapped.

You tickled my heart
Expanded my mind,
To be one of a kind
And make living an art.

Father Dear, I call on you
And feel your presence near,
Ever holding me precious and dear
Your love so pure and true.
